Alpacas and the Anza Valley ~
an Appealing Arrangement
Alpacas
of Anza Valley Host 2nd Annual Open Ranch Day
Saturday,
October 8, 2005- The Anza Valley and alpacas seem to be quite the winning
combination these days. This was highly evident Saturday as curious community
members of all ages accepted owners, breeders and herd masters Julie and Don
Roy’s invitation to their ‘Open Ranch Day’ in Anza to learn more about
this “huggable investment” that is winning over the hearts of traditional
ranchers and entrepreneurs alike across the nation. A very informative host,
Julie demonstrated how docile and personable these adorable relatives of the
camel are with the hourly hand feedings and harness-led walks. Business and life
partner Don Roy who is also very knowledgeable on the subject, answered
questions inside the ranch store as an educational video played, inviting
visitors to learn even more about alpacas while enjoying a refreshing beverage
and light snack.
This was the second Open Ranch Day for Julie and Ron; the initial one
being held last March to celebrate the one year birthday of their very first
baby alpaca, “Coconut Crunch of Anza Valley” and to commemorate the launch
of their quaint ranch store offering luxurious products made from the alpaca
fiber. Since the alpaca fiber is organically hypoallergenic and 5-7 times
warmer, stronger and longer lasting than wool, a gorgeous alpaca garment is a
purchase guaranteed to last a lifetime. Because of the naturally occurring resin
in alpaca fleece, alpaca garments are resistant to odors, staining, and
moisture. Alpaca fiber is even flame retardant! Alpacas of Anza Valley’s
Online Store at www.AlpacasAV.com offers
many of these luxury-fiber garments at very reasonable prices and can also be
ordered by calling (951) 763-4222. Some of these fabulous garments include zip
vests that are great for layering in winter, ribbed color block scarves that are
both functional and fashionable, cozy socks that are organically produced and
blended with copper, and double layer gloves with suede palms that are to die
for. Don and Julie also offer “The Huggable Alpaca Teddy Bear” from Peru
that is so sumptuously soft; you’ll never want to cuddle anything less!
The weather was perfect and the audience was captive as Don and Julie
shared the magnificent business venture that turned their retirement days into
an exciting adventure in agriculture that has changed their lives for the
better, forever. While their herd has grown to 14 in less than nine months,
keeping them very busy, they welcome sharing their knowledge with other new
alpaca owners. To learn more or schedule a personal ranch tour of Alpacas of
Anza Valley call (951) 763-4222 or visit their user-friendly informative website
at www.AlpacasAV.com.
Julie
Roy professionally works with entrepreneurs and potential alpaca owners,
coaching them over the telephone in their new lifestyle and business venture.
